Message from the Vicar

Rev. Fr. Varghese (Santhosh) K. Joshua

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Welcome to the website of St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church Washington DC. Our church is a part and parcel of Indian Orthodox Church. (The Church in India was started by the Apostle St. Thomas, in AD 52). We are very grateful and thankful to the Lord for giving us an opportunity to witness the true faith in the Triune God in the capital of USA.

St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church Washington D.C. has a history of 45 years. We have more than 50 God fearing families. We conduct Holy Qurbana (Eucharist) every Sunday and organize different spiritual activities like prayer meetings, Sunday School classes, Martha Mariyam Samajam meetings (prayer meeting for women), Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church Students Movement (MGCOCM), and Orthodox Vacation Bible School (OVBS). By molding good citizens through these activities, our Church is doing a wonderful contribution for both the material world and the World in the Heights.

Presently, we conduct our Church activities in a rental place. We are in the final stages of building a new Church of our own. We request your prayers and help for the construction of the Church.

With our Lord Jesus Christ and St. John the Baptist, the Church proclaims the good news for the world "THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND, REPENT."

With prayers, in His service

Rev. Fr. Varghese (Santhosh) K. Joshua
